Hudson Elementary 5th Grade 2004
The Hudson Elementary Rocket Outreach Program was hosted in 2004 by Daedalus at Hudson Elementary in Tempe, Arizona. Daedalus personnel took over FOUR 5th grade classrooms for three days. We spent the first day teaching the fundamentals of rocketry using interactive learning tools developed by NASA Rockets Educator Guide (available for free online). The next day was spent building the rockets with the 5th grade class, which consumed about 4 hours of class time and about 12 volunteers. Several days later we traveled back to Hudson Elementary and launched the rockets in their own playground. The entirety of the Hudson Elementary classes (grades K-5) came out to watch, and the event was a HUGE success!
