Air Force Jr. ROTC Honors Summer Camps 1 and 2

Air Force Junior ROTC students from High Schools across the country were selected to participate in the AFJROTC Aerospace and Technology Honors Camp 2005 and stay on the ASU campus for a week. Two such camps were performed in 2005, same as the year prior. These bright young students engaged in many activities over the week based on a very demanding curriculum developed and implemented by the ASU AFROTC Detachment 025 on campus. Daedalus was asked to attend both week-long camps and perform our rocket outreach program. This was our first chance to work with High School students, and as such we assigned a variety of worksheets (altitude calculation and Barrowman equations for center of pressure determination) in addition to the usual routine of building rockets. Both camps performed admirably, and came up with some very unique rocket designs. Our success with these two camps has motivated our involvement with additional High School programs.
